Description[]
The CONT4CT Device grants Prospectors access to SMPL3 missions and Operations. Though the CONT4CT Device can be crafted in Missions, they can only be used in Open Worlds and Outposts. Must be deployed outdoors.
SMPL3 missions can be accessed in Open Worlds and Outposts, while Operations can only be accessed in Open Worlds. The list of available Operations is limited to the Open World the player is in. Ex: Prospectors can only initiate Prometheus Operations in a Prometheus Open World.
A handheld C0NT4CT Radio provides access to the missions in the CONT4CT Device while on the go. It requires the CONT4CT Device to be deployed within range before using the handheld radio.
SMPL3 Missions[]
SMPL3 missions consist of varying objectives, challenges, and rewards. Variations of these missions are based on your map location, biome, and selected difficulty. Completion of your assigned mission will often result in a Reward Pod descending to your location, where you can choose between one of three offered rewards (the Cache SMPL3 mission does not call a reward pod - rewards for mission completion are contained within the hidden cache). Upon accepting a reward, Prospectors are granted XP and Ren for their efforts (Ren received is based on SMPL3 mission difficulty: Easy - 10
, Normal - 20, Hard - 30). Insurance does not affect the rewards for these missions.
SMPL3 Mission Types[]
The types of missions available are:
- Hunt: Kill a quota of wild animals that spawn in the current biome. An area indicated by a yellow circle on the map will have a increased number of animals required to meet that quota.
- Grow: Grow a quota of vegetables and deliver to Operator.
- Mine: Collect a quota of a requested ore and deliver to Operator.
- Collect: Search for downed Prospectors, collect and deliver their IDs. Radio static and periodic beeping will help Prospectors locate these bodies.
- Scan: Scan a location with the scanner provided and defend the scanner.
- Cache: Collect a cache from a previous Prospector. Fellow Prospectors have reported sightings of smoke and aggressive wildlife.
- Boss: Kill a wandering boss animal.
- Tools: Craft and deliver 3 Tools of varying tech levels.
- Build: Prospectors must build a watchtower and place a provided Beacon on it. When placed, Prospectors will receive a small buff in an area around the watchtower until the Beacon is destroyed.
- Drone: Prospectors have limited time to find and upload data from a crashed drone. When activated, the drone will attract unwanted attention from nearby creatures. Defensive measures and an
Anti-Poison Pill is recommended. - Lost: Prospectors are tasked to locate an old abandoned prospector’s base on the surface of Icarus. Prospectors will need to quickly rebuild the structure while fending off attacking creatures. Once complete, Prospectors can place a beacon down for the UDA to mark its location on the map. Keep an eye out for gear that may have been left behind that could potentially be useful.
Operations[]
The CONT4CT Device grants Prospectors access to Operations, a variation of traditional Missions that are started in Open Worlds. Upon completing an Operation, Prospectors will be granted Ren () and 
Exotics/
Volatile Exotics for their efforts (rewards vary per Operation and is affected by Open World difficulty). If you enabled insurance on your loadout before landing your character, these Operations will be affected by the currency reduction because of it.
To access encoded signals, Prospectors will need to craft an 
Infrasonic Relay Upgrade and slot it into the CONT4CT Device via their hotbar. To access encrypted signals, Prospectors will need to craft an 
Encrypted Satellite Upgrade and slot it into the CONT4CT Device via their hotbar. Note: both upgrades must be slotted into the CONT4CT Device to access encrypted signals.
