While being a Tier 3 component, Carbon Fiber is only used to make Carbon Arrows, the Carbon Spear/Javelin, and the Carbon Fibre Round Shield in the Tier 3 Tech Tree; however, it is a critical component widely used in Tier 4 crafting.
Crafting[]
Carbon Fiber is refined by adding 
Carbon Paste to a Furnace. The minimum required furnace for refining is as follows:
