Description[]
Wolves are one of the most common, and most easily underestimated, dangers on Icarus. Whenever a prospector sees one wolf, they should expect two more have already circled behind them. A genetic variant of the grey wolf, this efficient carnivore is an indiscriminate hunter, thriving in the transplanted Forests of Icarus. It's relative, the Snow Wolf, roams the frigid wastes of the Arctic Biome.
Strategies[]
General[]
Conifer Wolves have low aggression range and low willingness to attack prospector, unless they get too close. Despite being fast, they lose interest on prospectors easily as long as a considerable distance is maintained. When being attacked without killing it instantly, all wolves nearby become aggressive to the attacking prospector.
Weaponry[]
Most ranged weapon are capable to one-shot wolves when both Stealth and Crit are achieved. Melee is less recommended as they tend to swarm the prospector, and their attack patterns include a backstep, making melee attack harder to hit. They can be killed in Bulk with a Buffalo or Tuskar.
Weakness[]
Due to their low aggression range, prospectors are usually able to spot them in open area rather than get ambushed. They howl can be heard from afar, revealing their presence. Without the pack, a single wolf is generally not enough to rival against a full-health prospector.
