Iron Ore is a Mineral, that allows prospectors to create Tier 2/Tier 3 Tools and Weapons with both the 
Anvil Bench and 
Machining Bench. In addition, iron is widely used in 
Steel Ingot for crafting Items such as the 
Steel Pickaxe, and Late-game Deployables like the 
Fabricator/
Electric Furnace.
