This page is a guide to creating or editing article pages on the Icarus Wiki in accordance with our established article style. These guidelines are not set in stone, but they should generally be followed in order to maintain consistency across pages, unless there is a good reason to make an exception.
General guidelines[]
Language and units[]
The default game language is UK English, therefore, the wiki should use UK English as well. For example, Aluminium Ore, not Aluminum Ore.
Always prefer "prospector(s)" over "player(s)."
Always prefer "prospect(s)" over "mission(s)."
Capitalization[]
In-game entities and items with their name explicitly spelled out should follow the in-game case in article names and links.
- Iron Ore not
Iron ore - Hunting Rifle not
Hunting rifle
etc.
- Capitalize every 1st letter when using links to Items in Descriptions.
- e.g.: "The Platinum Pickaxe is a mid-tier Tool used to harvest Minerals."
- Capitalize every 1st letter when using the {{ItemIconLink|Item Name}} Template in pages.
- e.g.:

- When in text, don't use caps.
- e.g.: "It is Difficult to Harvest Aluminium Ore due to its Weight."
- When in text, only use caps when linking to a page.
- e.g.: "A prospector can refine aluminium ore in a Concrete Furnace."
- Prefer "prospector(s)" over "Prospector(s)."
