Description

The Obsidian Spear is a variant of the  Iron Spear that deals fire damage on hit and has a 15% chance to apply a unique debuff to targets while also setting them ablaze. Although it may have a low percent chance of setting targets on fire, the Obsidian Spear excels when used against Fauna that have a weakness to fire, dealing more damage than the  Iron Spear. A list of fauna that are weak to fire can be viewed here. When the Burning modifier does proc, periodic fire damage is dealt to the target over the span of 10 seconds. Fauna with:

• A resistance to fire: 15 Fire damage on hit. 17-22 damage per second if modifier procs
• No weakness to fire: 30 Fire damage on hit. 35-45 damage per second if modifier procs
• A weakness to fire: 45 Fire damage on hit. 70-90 damage per second if modifier procs

Element damage does not scale with Spear talents. Unlike the  Obsidian Javelin, the Obsidian Spear cannot be thrown.

An attachment slot is available, allowing for the application of Tool Attachment Packs at an  Alteration Bench/ Advanced Alteration Bench.

Crafting

This weapon can only be made while on Prometheus, as Shaped Obsidian can only be made while on Prometheus.
