Stealth is concealment from Fauna found on Icarus, and determines how both hostile and passive creatures react to your presence. Hunting is an important task for most Icarus prospectors. It provides a renewable source of Food Items, but also a number of Resources essential to survival.
With this in mind, a prospector looking to hunt the creatures of Icarus would do well to consider stealth in their hunting endeavors. However, avoiding conflict with some of Icarus's more antagonistic animals often requires stealth as well, and prospectors who are not focused on hunting can still benefit.
Gameplay[]
Stealth comprises two variables: visual and auditory. Simple concealment on Icarus can be achieved when a prospector crouches. This enables stealth, and the prospector will see an indicator in the middle of their display showing whether they have been detected by nearby wildlife. Several Talents can increase a prospector's intrinsic steatlh abilities, and Ghillie Armor will boost this factor considerably. A sound meter on the lower-left part of the display will indicate how quiet a prospector is being while moving.
While in stealth, a prospector's weapon damage is considerably greater than normal. Ranged and melee attacks benefit from this increase, often enabling prospectors to achieve kills with one hit.
